An armor bearer is a personal support officer assigned to the senior pastor or apostolic leader. Apostle Aiken has also appointed Handmaids to assist in serving him for the more sensitive needs and his wife to serve as an female Armor Bearer within her perimeters . The biblical image comes from those who carried the weapons, protected the leader, and ensured the success of the mission. In today’s church, the armor bearer functions as a shield, servant, and stabilizer. The role of the armor Bearer is bigger than the outward appearance carrying briefcases bringing attention to a leader. The job consists of so much more in the spiritual sense. Some of the expected things Apostle Aiken I have taught and stand firm on are as follows.
• Atmosphere Protection — Guarding the spiritual, emotional, and physical environment around the leader.
• Personal Assistance — Managing items, garments, water, towels, microphones, and anything needed for ministry flow.
• Movement Support — Helping the leader navigate crowds, transitions, and ministry moments without interruption.
• Discernment and Watchfulness — Reading the room, sensing distractions, and quietly removing hindrances.
• Prayer Covering — Interceding for the leader before, during, and after ministry assignments.
Armor bearers protect the flow of the anointing. They ensure the leader is not drained by unnecessary tasks or exposed to unnecessary risks. In a time where churches face spiritual warfare, emotional strain, and public pressure, armor bearers help keep the leader focused, safe, and effective.
The security team functions in the same format but with a different assignment. Security is not optional in today’s world. It is a ministry of protection, not intimidation. Security teams guard the congregation, the leader, and the facility from threats—both seen and unseen. Security Matters Today because Unfortunately Churches face Increased violence and public attacks, Mental health crises, Domestic disputes spilling into services, Theft, vandalism, and property threats Large crowds requiring organized flow. Security ensures the church remains a safe sanctuary, not a vulnerable target.
These positions form a unified protective and operating system. The armor bearer protects the leader personally. He protects the order and structure Apostle has put in order. The security team protects the Apostle, his wife, family and the people of the church and visited facilities.
